PACQUIAO SAID BYE TO COCKFIGHTING
No more cockfighting, gambling and other vices for the boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao accepted a task from the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines to become a goodwill ambassador for the Catholic Church.
Pacquiao has given all his fighting cocks to friends. The boxing icon owned more than a thousand roosters worth more than $700,000.00 (5.3 million pesos). Cockfighting is a blood sport in the Philippines.
Pacquiao also sold his shares in the Manila Casino (Poker Asia). He also gave up his his shares in a nightclub and a bar. Amount of assets were not disclosed.
The fighting congressman has been involved in womanizing controversies especially with local celebrities.
Now, Pacquiao expressed resolve to renew his life and become a better man. Pacquiao will instead focus in congress and play basketball as his hobby.
Pacquiao gave all credit to God for all his victories, success in the ring and the love of the people. He is man of great faith. He wears the rosary before and after the fight.
His faith in God is his greatest weapon in the ring.
