LeBron perseveres, finally delivers on his promise
MIAMI — Once again we found them dancing and laughing and whooping it up before they won a title. LeBron James. Dwyane Wade. Chris Bosh. The Big Three set free. They were on the bench, hugging, jumping, pointing, hugging some more. Just like they did two summers ago in this very same arena, ever so controversially, in front of this very same hysterical crowd.

LeBron on brink of joining elite fraternity of champions
MIAMI — Over here, we’ve got Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Reggie Miller, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Dominique Wilkins and countless others. Over there, Bill Russell, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant and so many more.
Over here is pretty good. Over there, apparently, is better. Over there, they have rings.

PALinGENESIS: Roaring Thunder
Seven years ago, major sports in Oklahoma City was virtually non-existent. With all due respect, college sports was the best that the state had to offer. There were several attempts to bring in a professional team that the Oklahomans could rally behind. However, nothing fell through. Even David…
LeBron James faded in fourth quarter, ESPN graphic claims, in defiance of math
Shortly after Game 1 of the NBA finals ended late Tuesday night, I found myself clicking around and looking for the postgame press conferences of Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks and Miami Heatcoach Erik Spoelstra. (I know, I should’ve just gone to NBA.com and streamed it, but I didn’t think of that right away.) In the search, I landed on ESPN’s postgame coverage, which at that time featured the following graphic (captured by CBSSports.com’s Will Brinson) breaking down LeBron James’ Game 1 performance:

AIR CONGO
OKLAHOMA CITY — Serge Ibaka was surprised so many people were surprised. So he makes more baskets in the first half than Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden combined. So he goes for a career-high 26 points, never missing a shot, in the conference final with the season likely on the line. Is that something new?

RISE TOGETHER
With the 102-82 win in game 3 over the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder came back to life after being downed 0-2.
Will the young Thunder team rise together to pull the series even in game 4 and eventually clinch their first ever conference title and hopefully the NBA championship?
